25 October 2024Prizes, grants, and why you should care about auctionsIt is the time of year when we find out who gets the most prestigious prize of them all. One of this year's Nobel Prize winners in economics, James Robinson, also has collaborations with at least one researcher here at LUSEM. We want to congratulate Christian Jörgensen, Policy Officer at AgriFood Economics Centre and researcher here at LUSEM and Anna Edenbrandt (SLU), in cooperation with Biotech Heights, on getting a grant from Vinnova's "Innovationspotten". The project is about getting consumers to choose plant based alternatives in the store. On 14 November Professor Daniel Waldenström will be presenting his book "Richer & more equal", make sure not to miss it. Mats Benner comments on the new research policy bill
The good news is that we will see an increase in funding over the next four years. Priorities are going to be within Artificial Intelligence, communication technologies, security, but also welfare. A point of criticism is that funding will be primarily through grant competition, so no significant increases in university funding.
