This autumn, JPIAMR has been present at several international meetings and conferences addressing the challenges of antimicrobial resistance (AMR):
AMR Multi-Stakeholder Partnership Platform Plenary Assembly
JPIAMR took part in the 2nd Annual Assembly of the AMR Multi-Stakeholder Partnership Platform (MSPP) that was held on 16 November in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The MSPP was established and facilitated by the Quadripartite organizations (FAO, UNEP, WHO and WOAH) in 2023 with the aim to catalyse a global movement for action against antimicrobial resistance by fostering cooperation between a diverse range of stakeholders at all levels across the One Health spectrum.
The platform’s members shared progress and experiences since its inception and worked together on formulating concrete steps for implementation of the UNGA political declaration on AMR from September this year.
The European Partnership on Transforming Health and Care Systems Annual Conference
The European Partnership on Transforming Health and Care Systems (THCS) organised its annual conference in Brussels 28-29 November, bringing together prominent speakers to explore the challenges and opportunities of transforming health and care systems from multiple perspectives.
JPIAMR on behalf of the future European Partnership on One Health AMR (EUP OHAMR) took part in a panel discussion on collaboration and synergies
among various EU-funded health initiatives, to highlight common challenges,
explore potential partnerships, and enhance cooperation across health systems.
JPIAMR participated in the third European Partnership Stakeholder Forum on 4 and 5 December 2024 in Brussels, co-organised by ERA-LEARN and the European Commission.
The Forum “20 years of European Partnerships: Reflecting on the past – Shaping the Future” brought together the whole community of Co-funded, Co-programmed and Institutionalised Partnerships’ stakeholders. The Forum in 2024 highlighted the achievements of the European Partnerships, while also addressing important challenges and strategic discussions on the way to the 10th Framework Programme.
The Forum was a great chance to network and join in meaningful discussions with former and new connections regarding JPIAMR but also the future EUP OHAMR.
The final event of the ERA-Net Cofund Aquatic Pollutants took place from 22 to 23 October in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. During the event, the 18 research projects and the transfer project Aquatic Pollutants TransNet presented their results from the last four years. In addition, challenges and perspectives for the future were discussed in panel discussions.
Within the framework of Aquatic Pollutants the Joint Programming Initiatives (JPIs) on Water, Oceans and
Antimicrobial Resistance in 2020 launched a joint transnational call for research and innovation projects on risks posed to human health and the environment by pollutants and pathogens present in the water resources.
