15 years and counting...
Dear friends of the Pufendorf IAS,
The academic year is in full swing, but the calendar year is nearing its end. The recent Symposium on Conducting Research in Interdisciplinary Groups gathered our community to reflect on the Pufendorf model, discussing both the challenges and potential of tackling interdisciplinary issues collaboratively. Our recent evaluation helped us pinpoint specific outcomes that emerge after groups complete their time at the Institute.
We can confidently say that the Pufendorf Institute is thriving. Over the past 15 years, since the first groups began in 2009, the Institute has hosted 522 researchers in Themes, with just as many scholars participating in Advanced Study Groups. These scholars have made significant contributions to Lund University - strengthening our profile areas, securing new platform grants, and establishing interdisciplinary research centers that continue the conversations started here.
After three years at the Pufendorf Institute, I can affirm what I have always suspected: that our unique, bottom-up, group-focused approach - where Lund University researchers benefit from dedicated time, resources for creative activities, and an experienced staff - has kept us going strong for 15 years. And counting...
