A season to connect
As fall arrives in Skåne, many of us settle into new routines after the summer. It's also a great time to meet new people, strengthen existing connections, and stay engaged in the community. That's why we're excited to relaunch our monthly After Work, creating opportunities to connect, catch up with friends, and enjoy great conversations throughout the season.
This fall, we're also pleased to deepen our collaboration with Social Hub Lund, creating even more opportunities for internationals to connect, learn, and grow. You'll find more information about our collaboration in this newsletter, along with the many ICHL events and activities we hope you'll join this month.
In this edition, you'll meet Sebastian Redolfi, who moved to Sweden with his partner and embraced the challenge of building a new life while launching a business in a new country. He shares his experiences, insights, and advice for others starting their journey in Sweden.
We've also gathered inspiration for making the most of October in Skåne, from pumpkin carving and vineyard visits to classical music concerts.
At the end of the month
comes fall break when schools close for a week, making it the perfect time to get out and explore.
Warm regards,
The ICHL Team

"When we made the decision to move to Sweden
sometime in 2024, my expectations were simple: find a new corporate job, a good
place to live, and continue having a modest, fulfilling life. Looking back now,
that was rather naive."

ICHL Top Tips
As fall arrives and the days become shorter, take the time to discover what helps you feel your best in Sweden. Whether it's spending time outdoors, meeting new people, or finding new routines
as the darker season approaches, small choices can make a big difference. Here are a few tips to help you enjoy October in Skåne. | Halloween the Swedish way
Don't forget to stock up on candy before 31 October if you want to be ready for trick-or-treaters!
Children dress up in costumes and go door-to-door saying "bus eller godis" ("trick or treat") in the hope of collecting plenty of candy. A lit jack-o'-lantern or pumpkin outside a home often signals that the household is taking part and welcomes trick-or-treaters. And don't forget, adults can join the fun too. If you're handing out candy, feel free to dress up yourself! It's a great way to experience one of Sweden's increasingly popular fall traditions.

Stay bright during Sweden's dark season

- Boost your vitamin D
- Chase the daylight
- Stay social

visitors throughout the year, October is one of the most exciting times
to visit. As the grape harvest gets underway, vineyards come alive with
