Umeå subscribers - welcome to visit the exhibition ‘UrbanScapes’ at SLU Campus Umeå!

Originally developed for the Alnarp conference in November, the exhibition is now on display at SLU in Umeå during February and March in the venue Lyckan. Our Hub Coordinator, Dimitris, welcomes you to explore the exhibition, share your feedback, and engage in discussions on urban issues. You’re also encouraged to organise meetings and collaborative sessions in connection with the exhibition. Later this spring, the exhibition will continue its journey to SLU Ultuna. New Hub Coordinator in Ultuna

The Future Platform SLU Urban Futures welcomes Daniel Valentini as a new hub coordinator in Ultuna. By strengthening transdisciplinary research and collaboration, in forming networks and new meetings, the hub coordinators contribute to promoting knowledge exchange and new collaborations at a regional level. Daniel brings his knowledge of cycling and urban mobility and wishes to lift up a mobilities perspective among the established urban themes.

Urban Forests: Mapping health promoting urban green spaces; why and how?

Welcome to an Urban Forests webinar with Helena Nordh, professor of landscape architecture at SLU. Helena will talk about key trends in green infrastructure planning, drawing on both research and practice. She will discuss green space rules and tools used in planning practice and share insights from past and ongoing research, highlighting methodological challenges and limitations.

SLU Urban Futures join the Zoöp of Bauhaus of the Sea Sails Malmö

SLU Urban Futures is now part of the Bauhaus of the Seas Sails collaboration Ocean Culture Hub. The Hub will be organised through the form of a pilot-Zoöp, an organisational collaboration model taking a more-than-human perspective. Within the framework of this cooperation, Urban Futures will be part of the activities on the World Ocean Day celebration in Malmö on June 8th.

Identifying environments that promotes mental health

Despite the diversity of green spaces and natural elements, a critical gap remains in understanding what makes them truly health-promoting. To maximize their benefits, comprehensive methods are needed to assess their potential for well-being. One valuable tool is the Contemplative Landscape Model, which bridges neuroscience research and landscape design to create more restorative environments.

Stiftelsen Botildenborg bjuder in till till en inspirerande konferens där vi delar erfarenheter och insikter från arbetet med att stödja ukrainska nyanlända i arbetslivet.

Botildenborgs projekt ”Växtplats Ukraina” kunde hjälpa över 75 % av deltagarna ut i arbete. Med nära samarbete med näringsliv och genom nytänkande metoder där mat och odling stod i centrum – en unik metod.
