Newsletter #12 -
Cross-border Talent Bridge
Last week, we took an important next step in
Cross-border Talent Bridge as we kicked off our strategic work together with
Future Place Leadership. Building on what we’ve learned, tested and achieved so
far, we’re now looking ahead to the final year of the project, and to how we
can create lasting impact beyond 2027.
And there’s plenty happening along the way. The coming
weeks and months offer many opportunities to meet, connect and share knowledge
- from International Citizen Days Copenhagen, Mentorship program and Kick-Start career program to activities focusing on inclusive talent management and everyday
life for internationals.
We’re continuing to turn dialogue and experience into
action, strengthening connections across the Greater Copenhagen region and working together
towards a more connected and attractive talent region. Our latest reporting period also shows strong progress across the project, from strengthening professional networks and creating a sense of belonging to developing new offers and bringing our experience into the policy debate. Read on for more news, upcoming activities and
insights — and follow us on LinkedIn to stay connected and join the
conversation!

Kicking off the strategic work within the
partnership Last week, the Cross-border Talent Bridge partners met
at Medicon Village to take stock of where we are - and, importantly, agree on
what comes next.
Three things we moved forward:
🎯
The strategic work ahead: Together with Future Place Leadership, we kicked off the work that will shape
the final year of the project and build on what we’ve learned so far.
🚀
The road to 2027: We started shaping ideas for the Cross-border Talent Bridge final event — an
opportunity to bring together experiences, results and perspectives from across
the project.
📣
The next wave of communication: We aligned on upcoming activities, including the next Policy Impact debate
article, a digital article campaign and a new Copenhagen App channel strategy.
A productive day, plenty of ideas and a clear sense of
what comes next. 👉

Reporting period 4: Delivering Results, Building
Impact
Our project is co-funded by Interreg Öresund-Kattegat-Skagerrak under the priority area of a “Borderless Labour Market”. As part of the Interreg program, we report on our progress and results every six months. This reporting period, spanning March to August, has delivered strong results and clear progress towards long-term impact:
- Strengthening connections - The mentorship programme supported 48 participants in building professional
networks, gaining new insights and strengthening their connection to the
Greater Copenhagen labour market.
- Creating a sense of belonging -
13 welcome events brought together 625 international participants, helping them build networks, gain knowledge and strengthen their connection to Greater Copenhagen.
For the first time in Sweden, International Citizen Day Lund gave around 200 international residents from 48 nationalities and 13 municipalities a chance to connect, explore and feel at home.
- Developing our offers - The Kick-start Job Program evolved into a more interactive and
network-oriented offer, continuously shaped by participant feedback. The
talent-attraction Toolbox was also upgraded to give SMEs more targeted support
on inclusive talent management and international recruitment.
- Strengthening our policy voice - Partners established a joint working group and initiated discussions around
shared messages for two debate articles addressing barriers faced by
third-country nationals moving across the Öresund region.
- Looking ahead - Partners also initiated the process towards a shared vision for international
talent attraction and retention, building on the project’s evidence, experience
and strong cross-border partnership.
Together, these efforts are helping build a stronger
and more connected talent region — with an important foundation to carry
forward beyond the project. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

“Midtvejsmøde” with partners and Interreg ÖKS
A couple of weeks ago, the partnership of Cross-border
Talent Bridge met with our co-funders, Interreg Öresund-Kattegat-Skagerrak, for
a mid-term meeting.
Over the past two years, the project has been about
more than individual activities and outputs.
- Bringing actors together across the Öresund around a shared talent agenda.
🤝
- Testing new approaches to attracting and retaining international talent — and
learning what works.
💡
- Making cross-border barriers more visible and creating dialogue around how they
can be addressed.
🌉
- Building relationships, knowledge and ways of working that can continue beyond
the project itself.
🌱
Together with the Interreg ÖKS team, we discussed
project collaboration and implementation, cross-border added value, results and
goal achievement, communication and target groups, as well as anchoring and
long-term impact.
Thanks for an open and constructive conversation, and
for the continued support behind this cross-border journey. 👉 Get more details here |
