SCI physicists among the winners of the Breakthrough Prize
Two researchers from the SCI School, Jonas Strandberg and Christian Ohm, are among the recipients of the 2025 Breakthrough Prize in Fundamental Physics as part of the ATLAS collaboration at CERN.
The prize recognizes the collective effort behind some of the most significant discoveries in particle physics, including the observation of the Higgs boson. Often referred to as the “Oscars of Science,” the Breakthrough Prizes celebrate scientific achievements with global impact.
KTH has been part of the ATLAS experiment since 1996, and researchers at the Department of Physics continue to play an important role, not only in analysing data from the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) but also in developing next-generation particle detectors for future experiments. Read the article |

Funding for research and teaching is being cut, speech and diversity are being banned, and the role of libraries is being undermined.
