Once again, a big thanks to all who participated in the GCUA meeting in Sweden in January. It was fantastic to meet you all and hear your thoughts and ideas. The planning is ongoing to develop the next phase of the network and share the ownership among the member universities. A proposal will be made in the General Assembly meeting in June.
But first of all, some interesting news about what has been going on during Spring. We are happy to welcome Autonomous University of Querétaro as a new member of GCUA 2030, emphasise the importance of student ambassadors within the network and of course, share the success of the Climate Action Challenge.
The climate action challenge designs new nature-based solutions
Three groups of students completed the GCUA 2030 Climate Action Challenge. The goal of the challenge was to design a Nature-based solution to mitigate climate change or the effects of climate change while targeting additional social challenges in a specific geographic location and context.
"Empowering student ambassadors serves as the vital bridge..."
To strengthen our network and feature the great outcomes of GCUA 2030 activities, we would like to share a quote from one of the member universities, this time from Ansung Kim, doctoral student at Örebro University, about the importance of student ambassadors in the network.
A new strong member has joined the GCUA 2030 network
We welcome our latest member to GCUA 2030 - Autonomous University of Querétaro (UAQ), Mexico. UAQ has earlier been a part of GCUA 2030 through STINT and has worked impressively well to integrate the sustainability work at the university.
What is your best advice to women who want to start researching?
To emphasise International Women's Day, we asked some of our incredible female researchers to present themselves and share their best advice to women who want to start a career within research.
In a digital era where we are overwhelmed with information from different directions, effective science communication stands as a essential bridge between complex research findings and public understanding. Recognising this, the AgriFoSe2030 programme together with SIANI, hosted a successful event to empower researchers with enhanced media engagement skills.
