The BEST-Storage approach for complying with market needs and requirements

The project implements a specific Innovation Management Process led by Solintel to identify and comply with market needs and requirements. This is a multi-level approach separated in 3 levels with the first level being dedicated towards the implementation of the necessary analytical building blocks and activities related to innovation and technology transfer, namely in the form of identification of market needs for product or service alignment, monitoring technologies, implementing needed contingency plans for adaptation, capturing IP value and establishing the ownership structure over different KERs as well as overseeing market deployment strategies in terms of their operational requirements.

World Café method with a bottom-up approach to involve key stakeholders in
the development of project pilot technologies and their application
Hystore is developing new technologies that can change the way people experience energy consumption at their home. New technologies are not always welcomed though. This is why in Hystore we will run several meetings in our pilot cases following the World Cafè method – a co-creation approach based on informal conversations among people from different backgrounds. Thermal energy storage - understanding needs, perceptions and motivations

Many complex and expensive research and development projects such as ThumbsUp, ECHO, HYSTORE and Best Storage gather over 20 partners each from across Europe – including the best researchers and the sharpest SMEs – to further develop highly promising technologies. How does the European Commission justify spending millions of taxpayers’ euros in advancing selected solutions from a TRL level 6 to a 9 with the purpose of achieving a Net-Zero economy on the continent?
