Pi Day, on March 14th (3/14), is the one day of the year when math enthusiasts and pie lovers find common ground, celebrating the never-ending number pi by eating pie and attempting to recite pi to as many decimal places as possible before the sugar rush sets in.

Aerodynamic drag is a major contributor to global emissions. A new computational model pushes the science of reproducing airflow further yet, by relying on neural network architecture to generate accurate predictions while saving time, cost and energy. “The point is to reduce computational complexity and make simulations or analyses more efficient,” says Ricardo Vinuesa lead researcher and fluid mechanics associate professor.

They compete in rocket launching
The ÆSIR student organisation at KTH builds rockets in their spare time. As the first Swedish team ever, they recently participated in a European rocket launch competition. With their self-designed Signý, they set a new height record of an impressive 3 384 metres.
