Welcome to Life Cycle Talks! A series of talks presenting the research
front to keep you up to date with the science and application of the
life cycle perspective. Our upcoming guest, Bengt Steen, Professor
emeritus at Chalmers University of Technology, will discuss the monetary
valuation of environmental impacts, providing insights into both its
present status and future prospects.

regarded as valuable to support decision-making. The last years several
international initiatives have been taken to increase accessibility of

Bengt Steen is Professor emeritus at Chalmers University of Technology.
His research focuses on product development, and guiding choices between
alternatives. This has been made through monetary valuation of added
values of environmental impacts of the alternatives. He is active in
ISO’s work on standardization of LCA and monetary valuation, UNEP’s Life
Cycle Initiative, and Impact Valuation Sprint led by Value Balancing
Alliance.
