Space balloon telescope offers new insights into black holesKTH's recent balloon mission has unveiled groundbreaking insights into black holes and neutron stars. Launched from Esrange in Kiruna, the telescope reached an altitude of 40 kilometers, capturing detailed data on the Crab pulsar and the black hole Cygnus X-1. "We want to increase our knowledge of some of the coolest objects in the universe," said Mark Pearce, professor of Astroparticle Physics. Read the article

Robot exploring the melting ice sheets of northern Greenland
The icebreaker Oden is on its way to the difficult-to-access waters and glaciers of northern Greenland. The polar expedition to the Arctic Ocean includes about 40 researchers, including a team from KTH with the autonomous underwater vehicle LoLo. “Our robot will be sent to the edge of the glacier to make unique measurements in previously unexplored water environments," says Peter Sigray, KTH Marine Systems. Top class welcoming of students
The reception at KTH is probably one of the best in the country, I dare say, with around 1,500 students involved.
New students are greeted by those who have been studying for a year or two and they are given a nice introduction to what it means to study and what student life is like.

Sing with the Staff Choir this autumn
KTH's staff choir is open to everyone working at KTH, and the choir welcomes both experienced singers and beginners. The first choir meeting is on August 19 at the KTH Campus.
