In a couple of days Jamboree26 will host a digital info session for camp staff (IST). This is an opportunity for you to ask all the questions you might have about the jamboree. The info session will be held on zoom, click the link below.
All previous info sessions are recorded and can be found on our website. | | | There are many similarities between volunteering as a camp staff (IST) and a regular full-time job. You will have a supervisor who informs you of your schedule and tasks. In situations where another function is in need of extra help, you may be asked to temporarily change your duties.
| | | Communication during the camp | Microsoft Teams will be the primary communication channel between camp staff members (ISTs). Before your arrival, you will be assigned a Teams account and receive information about how it works. Using Teams requires a smartphone, which can be charged in the staff dining hall or at your workplace. | | | | | | Accomodation in the camp staff village |
Camp staff members (ISTs) will have their own village on the outskirts of the camp area. This is where you will live, eat, and spend your free time. Accommodation for camp staff (IST) is primarily in tents. Hammocks are not recommended, as there are no trees in this part of the campsite. If you are attending with your scout group you may stay with them, as long as they have space for you. Note that scout groups stay for shorter time, so on the days when the group is not there , you will need to arrange accommodation in the camp staff (IST) village. It is not allowed to stay elsewhere on the site when your group is not there. More information regarding tent sizes is availible on our website. | | | Healthcare and vaccination All camp staff membersare expected to bring a basic first aid kit for minor medical needs. This could include bandaids, oral rehydration therapy, bandage, and sunscreen. In the event of more serious injuries, you can visit a medical tent at the camp. In consultation with Region Skåne, Jamboree26 recommends that all participants are vaccinated against measels and TBE (tick-borne encephalitis). It is important to plan ahead, as two doses for TBE is required, one month apart.
| | | | | Restaurant Himmel (Heaven) is the camp dining hall for camp staff. Meals are served at set times several times a day. Plates and cutlery will be provided. It is recommended that you bring a camping mug or insulated cup to drink from, as well as a water bottle for hot days. More information about food is availible under "Staff Village" on our website.
| | | | | | Please note that the Jamboree does not allow the use of alcohol or drugs. This applies to everyone on Jamboree26, including all international participants, leaders and staff, and on pre and post camp as well. | | |
