The newsletters at SLU have changed its shape and now VH's internal newsletters look like this. The content will be the same: important news and tips about upcoming events for you who are an employee at the VH faculty.
The development of the Veterinary and Veterinary Nursing programmes
The work to receive more Veterinary- and Veterinary Nursing students has
started, and started well. Still, there is a lot to be changed within a short
time, and the knowledge and commitment of many of us will be needed.
We are
expected to build world class educations. This is of course an honouring, and
fun, mission. The Veterinary and Veterinary Nursing programmes are to be
dynamic and sustainable study and work environments, able to train confident
veterinarians and veterinary nurses.
Stay
updated of the development on the project's website. Here latest news, FAQs and
filmed interviews are posted all along. In a recent video, the project manager
Anders Bjurstam gives a first status report and tells about the strategic
focus.
The website
also has a functional mailbox open for everyone. Write to nya-vet-dss@slu.se if
you have questions, thoughts or tips that can be useful for the work.
Ethical review of Swedish articles in international media
International journals sometimes require researchers to have an ethical permit to publish an article on a topic. In Sweden, the ethical approval is given by the Ethics Review Authority.
However, the ethical review only applies to research on humans. When international journals request that Swedish researchers show permission for such ethically unregulated research or show that permission is not needed, there is no obvious body in Sweden to turn to.
Researchers can turn to SLU's Legal Affairs Unit with a request for a certificate stating that an ethical permit is not required for the current research in Sweden. The Certificate of Exemption from Ethical Review has been accepted by international journals.
