Nuclear Materials Platform receives 40 million SEK in funding
KTH has received funding for a new extensive project in nuclear energy technology. The platform for nuclear materials, NuMaP - Nuclear Materials Platform, receives about 40 million SEK from the Swedish Energy Agency. KTH will receive 17 million SEK.
"This collaboration strengthens KTH and Sweden's ability to conduct cutting-edge research in materials physics with applications for nuclear power. NuMaP will play an important role in preparing Sweden for a fossil-free future," says Pär Olsson, professor at SCI.

At Space Robotics Lab at KTH, robots are trained to navigate in weightless environments. The lab is one of the biggest in Europe. The software used by the space robots is directly connected to NASA. The goal? To develop software and hardware for autonomous robots capable of navigating autonomously in weightless environments – space and subsea conditions.
KTH is part of a multi-billion project to enhance semiconductor production in Sweden, focusing on creating energy-efficient high-voltage transistors for applications like electric vehicle charging. This innovation is crucial for advancing society's electrification. The project will see the first components produced at KTH's Electrum Laboratory within six months, aiming to boost Sweden's semiconductor capabilities.

The KTH website has a new look
With KTH's updated graphic profile in mind, the website has undergone several design changes. The new look mainly focuses on colours and fonts, a new page header and a personal menu; the external website, the Student web and KTH Intranet have different colour themes and translations of pages are reached via a link in the page header.
KTH's main building wins the Guldstolen architecture award for the best interior of the year! The prize is awarded by Architects Sweden. The brick building on Valhallavägen is over 100 years old, making it the oldest on campus.
Applications to KTH's programmes and courses have increased by 16.7 per cent which is the largest growth among Swedish universities. For MSc programmes we have the highest fgirues since 2005. And freestanding courses received 11,038 applications, 59 per cent more than HT23.
