Workshop: How to communicate your research beyond the lab
SciLifeLab community exclusive We’re inviting the SciLifeLab community to a hands-on workshop in Solna focused on how to share your research with a broader audience.
We’ll talk about how to spot what’s interesting in your research, how to write about it for non-experts, and how to build confidence in using social media. Expect short talks, practical exercises, and peer feedback in a relaxed setting.
First come, first served (around 20 spots). Date: August 28 Time: 13:00 - 14:00 Venue: Air & Fire, Stockholm | | | | | |
Introduction to bioinformatics using NGS dataThis intense one-week workshop provides an introduction to the analysis of next generation sequencing data. Lectures on the theory of concepts will be paired with practical computational exercises in the Linux environment. The practical exercises will focus on data from the Illumina platform, but we will discuss other sequencing platforms and the advantages and challenges to using their data during the lectures. Briefly, the workshop covers the followings major topics:
Working on the UNIX/LINUX command line
Bioinformatic/NGS data formats and QC
DNA variant calling workflow essentials
RNA sequence analysis workflow essentials
