Practical details that make a difference |
As we prepare for Jamboree26, we continue to share information to support your scout group’s planning. In this newsletter, you’ll find updates on camp food, the programme, structure and some important practical conditions at the campsite - all to create the best possible conditions for a safe, fun, and memorable camp week. In this newsletter: first aid packing, vaccinations, “Matriket”, tacos for the environment, programme theme, mobile phones, arrival and departure meals, and visitors.

| | | | | | | | First aid in the group’s packing
| Each participating group is required to bring your own basic first‑aid equipment to handle minor injuries yourselves. First‑aid resources for more serious injuries will be available on site at Jamboree26. More information will be provided later. | | | Everyone participating in Jamboree26 is recommended to be vaccinated at least against measles and TBE. This recommendation is given by the jamboree organization in consultation with Region Skåne. TBE stands for Tick‑Borne Encephalitis. Please plan ahead: two doses, given one month apart, are required to achieve basic protection against TBE. | | | Matriket - where we stock up for the camp We can now reveal the name of the camp’s food distribution area: Matriket! Matriket is Lidl’s name for their sustainable and locally produced Swedish range, and as one of Jamboree26’s main partners, they are bringing this concept out into the field with us. Now is a great time for your group to start thinking about food at camp. At Matriket, one much-loved dish—voted for on Jamboree26’s social media—will be served: tacos! At Matriket during Jamboree26, food is about more than just what we eat—it’s also about the impact of our choices. The camp becomes something bigger than the meals on our plates: it’s about the ideas we share, the decisions we make, and how we inspire each other. Small actions can make a big difference when many people are involved. Together, we can create something that tastes like adventure and points toward a more sustainable future.
| | | | | | How would you build tacos for the planet? | | | | We want to invite you to do a simple activity in your group: Think together about which ingredients make a big difference – what is more or less sustainable, and how choices of filling affect climate, environment, and society. Draw your climate‑smart tacos and tag Jamboree26 on Facebook or Instagram. We look forward to seeing your creations! | | | | | Programme themeAt Jamboree26, we create the programme together!
Throughout the week, all participants will experience five different programme areas, each based on one of Scouting’s personal development areas (the body, the group, emotions, thoughts, and life questions). Expect experiences that challenge, engage, and inspire new perspectives – always with a focus on cooperation, participation, and co‑creation. The programme is built around doing things together, in the patrol and with others, where participants actively shape their experiences through choices, collaboration, and initiative. It is in meetings, choices, and cooperation that Jamboree26 takes shape – and together we create the adventure.
| | | | | For scout leaders there will be a dedicated Jamboree26 mobile app focused on providing practical camp information. Charging opportunities are limited but available, and we encourage you to pack powerbanks or solarpowered charging stations. The jamboree has no rules against participants bringing cellphones, but we also don't require them for experiencing Jamboree26 to the fullest. | | | Food on arrival and departure On arrival day, the first meal that you collect from Matriket is dinner on Saturday, 25 July. The same applies to groups/participants attending a short week and arriving on Wednesday – dinner will be the first meal. On the final day of camp, the scout group will receive breakfast and lunch from Matriket.
If you are leaving before lunch and wish to bring lunch with you s a packed meal, participants and leaders must bring a lunch box with a tight-fitting lid. Both participants and visitors can buy food on site at our cafés and Foodhouse;
please note that the primary payment methods on the campsite is by card. We are currently also working on a version of pre-paid cards for the scouts.
| | | | | Everyone is welcome during Jamboree26. Whether you have a connection to the Scouts or simply want to learn more about how a large Scout camp works. Visitors are welcome to the campsite during the day but may not stay overnight. There will be no tent spaces for guests; instead, we refer to nearby offsite camping grounds.
The first and last days of the camp, 25 July and 1 August, are set‑up and dismantling days. We recommend Visitors to come during the regular camp days instead.
Each scout group will have scheduled activities, and you can contact a specific group if you’d like to know more about their programme. We encourage you to travel to the campsite by public transport. The nearest bus stop for local buses (Skånetrafiken) is “Norra Åsum Wendesgymnasiet”
If you are travelling by car, please follow the on-site instructions regarding where to park. Dogs are welcome on the site, but must be kept on a lead and walked outside the campsite. | | | Get excited for Jamboree26!To start getting excited already now, you can practise the camp song Together is the real thing with its accompanying dance.
