Awareness raising, preparedness, and re-design are three important pillars of developing heat-resilient cities. Working across sectors and collaborating between cities and national governments are key for policy work on urban heat. Eleni Myrivili shares local and global perspectives from her work as Chief Heat Officer for the city of Athens and Global Chief Heat Officer at the United Nations Human Settlement Program (UN Habitat). Urban Forests: Adaptive and participatory governance in Urban Green Spaces
Welcome to our third Urban Forests webinar of the semester. This time, we welcome Pedro Obregon, Ph. D. student at the Department of Forest Economics at SLU. In this talk, Pedro will explore the influence of adaptive and participatory governance (involvement of multiple actors in a structured process) on the management of urban green spaces. The study focuses on Umeå, a city with a big potential for urban green space expansion.
