Great success when SEC got digital! In the current situation due to the corona virus, we have made an inventory how we can carry out the SEC's activities responsibly. We have started SEC Lectures among other things, which on the first occasions became a success with more participants than we had dared to hope for. We successfully held our first interactive workshop online with group works on influences, trends and motivations in breakout rooms in the Electromobility scenarios project. We continue to create meetings, workshop digitally and take the time as an opportunity to disseminate the opportunity to increase knowledge about electromobility. We keep coming back with information on our website, social media and in our newsletters as we go along. | SEC Lectures: Introduction to electromobility Our first part about Energy storage, batteries and fuel cells was a great success, with over 500 participants registrered. Next time is on Friday 8, May. Welcome to participate. The SEC lectures is a unique offer from SEC due to the corona crisis to take advantage of an online electromobility course during five Fridays in April-June. The course provides an overview of electromobility starting from storage of charging, powertrain and on-board systems all the way to social aspects, interaction with the electric grid and infrastructure. You will get an introduction to the areas as wells as to different tools for modelling. - Part 1: Energy storage, batteries and fuel cells
- Part 2: Electrical machines, drives and charging (8 May 2020, 10:00-15:00)
- Part 3: Vehicles systems (15 May 2020, 10:00-15:00)
- Part 4: Electromobility in society (29 May 2020, 10:00-15:00)
- Part 5: Electrical grid and electromobility (5 June 2020, 10:00-15:00)
| Welcome to Emobility daysIn September, it is time again for this year's big event arranged by Swedish Electromobility Centre. This event gives you an insight into the latest electromobility research as well as all the new projects that have started during stage 4. All new PhD-students and their projects will be presented, and senior researchers will present successful research areas within the centre. The days are arranged by Swedish Electromobility Centre and we welcome all our partners. Hopefully we can meet this year at ABB T7 Meeting Center in Västerås. The plan is that ABB will have a customized exhibition for us on site. If this is not possible due to the corona virus then we will conduct the event digitally. We will be back with more information as we learn more how the situation develops. | | | NOTE! Start to work on your application, September 1 is soon here! Call 2 for future research projectsWe at the Swedish Electromobility Centre are proud to announce our new call. The projects should be within the scope of our thematic areas and contribute to the centre as a whole. Every project must include at least one industrial partner and should be co-financed with an equal amount or more of in kind than the funding from the SEC. Please read carefully the instructions and download the new template. The Centre need your application at the latest 1 September 2020, 14.00. | | | Invitation to two seminars on batteries and fuel cells Our theme 3 Energy Storage will host two in-depth seminars on batteries and fuel cells in May. The seminars are intended for researchers and experts in the field and will address the state-of-the-art research. The webinars will be Zoom-based. | Fuel CellsMonday 11 May 10.00-11.00 Presentations will be given, highlighting the current technological status of the fuel cell area, Swedish development efforts, and the potential for fuel cells in Electromobility. | | | Battery testing and diagnosticsMonday 18 May 10.00-11.00 A limited number of presentations will be given on how to perform battery test, diagnose cell chemistry during battery operation, and current research within the area. | | | The Doctoral student network digital lunch seminars continuesDuring these seminars various aspects of electromobility will be dealt with, based on Academy, Industry and Society. The seminar series will consist of shorter lectures during lunchtime between 12:00-12:30. Below we present our two upcoming lunches. | 12:00-12:30, 6 May
"Moving Toward Hydrogen Integrated Economy" with David BlekhmanDavid Blekhman, Professor of Technology at California State University Los Angeles and Technical Director of Hydrogen Research and Fueling Facility, is an expert in the field of hydrogen infrastructure. | | 12:00-12:30, 3 June
"Norway’s supercharged battery electric vehicle market – Lessons learnt" with Erik FigenbaumErik Figenbaum, Chief Research Engineer at the Institute of Transport Technology in Oslo. He has extensive experience within vehicle technologies, in particular electric vehicles, ranging from national implementation plans, barriers, opportunities, effect of policies and incentives, to analysis of user and societal perspectives and effects based on diffusion and transition theories. | | | | Welcome to our Autumn SchoolWelcome to the centre’s autumn school, that focuses on components and system studies for electromobility, with emphasis on electric battery and fuel cell vehicles. The school is intended for PhD students in the field of emobility however SEC industrial partners may also attend. The course provides an overview of vital components such as batteries, fuel cells and electric machines, and also tools for system studies, to be used for evaluation and design of vehicle propulsion systems. Possibilities and limitations with different propulsion solutions will be discussed. | | | We are happy to invite you to our Doctoral Student Network event on how to hold a pitchNow you have the opportunity to learn how to present your research in a selling way to reach out. Åsa Ryhard expert in communication will share here knowledge. | | | Wan't to be a Micromaster?Chalmers Professional Education offers a number of free of charge
web-based courses, called MOOCs. But if you as a participant want the "Verified Certificate", each course has a cost. The courses can be combined into a “Micromaster” in Emerging Automotive Technologies. The courses are available until 5 June. - Electric and Conventional Vehicles
- Hybrid Vehicles
- Model-based Automotive Systems Engineering
- Sensor Fusion and Non-linear Filtering for Automotive Systems
- Multi-Object Tracking for Automotive Systems
| | | Meet us at VECSDue to the Corona virus epidemic VECS was to reschedule to a later date. VECS 2020 will be held on the 25-26 of August in the same venue as previously planned. We at Swedish Electromobility Centre will have Anders Grauers, associate professor at Chalmers University of Technology and a specialist within the Swedish Electromobility Centre as a speaker. | | |
