KTH is setting a new record for the number of first-choice applicants to the 5-years programmes.
KTH – first choice for even more students
Gabriel Montgomery is happy to see that first choice applicants for our master of science in engineering programmes increase significantly. But he also notices a negative trend. Something that the Faculty Boards are about to try solving.
Thomann to collaborate with Nordic Ministries of Finance
INDEK’s Christian Thomann will play an important role in a new collaboration between the Nordic Ministries of Finance. He was recently appointed—by a cabinet decision of the Swedish government—as Sweden’s delegate for economics to the Nordic Tax Research Council (NSFR.se).
Interest in engineering is growing – but the funding cap is falling
This year more than 4,700 people have chosen an engineering programme at KTH as their first choice, which is 18 percent more than two years ago. But we are facing a challenge – the government’s decision to reduce the ceiling in the coming years will affect the opportunities for many students to start their academic journey.
Do it now!

Time to report secondary employments
In May, all employees will be asked, via e-mail, if you have any secondary employment that could potentially harm the confidence in your impartiality. This is particularly important for teachers, who also must report whether they have any so-called R&D-related secondary employment. Join a digital meeting to learn more:
This year, Sweden has been part of EU for 30 years. Just as long, it has been possible for teachers and administrative staff to take part in international exchange with funds from Erasmus+.
Are you curious about EU and Sweden? On Friday it's EU's annual Europe Day, which the Swedish Government will highlight with a day full of seminars at Kulturhuset and online. In Swedish.

KTH has a new system for course evaluation and course analysis to reduce administrative work for teachers and make it easier for students to give feedback.
The system has been tested during period 1 and 2 and is now fully launched on all KTH courses. Mattias Höjer is one of the Professors who tested the system. He is pleasantly surprised and finds the new questionnaire significantly more useful than the previous one.
The Unite! European University Alliance invites all teaching faculty across its nine partner universities to take part in the Unite! Educator Questionnaire: Assessment Practices—a key initiative aimed at understanding and improving assessment strategies in higher education.
Starting 1 June, students will no longer be added to the course web. Existing material will remain, but read more about alternative communication channels.
