16 May 2024LUSEM receives re-accreditation from EQUISAlso our Statistics Nestor Pierre Carbonnier retires after 44 years of teaching. Outside of LUSEM you might have noticed the Pro-Palestinian tent camp in Lundagård and on 18 May the Lundapride procession will be starting at 11.30 right next to that, by the Main University Building. Farther away, our Deputy Dean led a delegation to China, whilst closer to home we take a look at doctoral theses and three of our alumni. On the happening side we have a Meeting point Ljusgården coming up on 27 May about the European Parliamentary elections, talks by our new Honorary Doctors on 30 May, and a symposium on data driven innovation on 5 June. Learn more | Vinzent Ostermeyer wrote the best doctoral thesis at LUSEM 2023In his doctoral thesis, titled “Why Firms Grow: The Roles of Institutions, Trade, and Technology during Swedish Industrialization”, economic historian Vinzent Ostermeyer asks the question of why some countries started growing and became rich following the Second Industrial Revolution, while other economies remained poor.
